In the latest episode of Desperate Housewives (broadcasted on Nov 12), out of nowhere, P showed up hilariously.
Lynette, one of the four main female characters, recently survived from a bizarre gunshot incident happened in their community's supermarket. Worrying about the safety of his mom, her youngest boy became quite paranoid. He would not let Lynette go shopping in the supermarket, while he stayed by her side all the time rather than playing around. Lynette came up with this idea to ask the newly-moved in neighbor, who also saved her life during the incident, to play a scene with her. So, to assure the neighborhood’s safety, this guy came revealing his secret identity as “Protector Man” to the little boy. However, his astute wording and lousy performance did not win the trust from this young audience of his. Exhausting all his means, this guy suddenly torn open his outwear and showed his shirt inside with a giant P printed on it.
Surely, the little boy’s eyes popped out, and wowed at the letter P.
The guy later told Lynette that he got this shirt from his cousin who went to Purdue.
It is one of those moments that will make audience feel an intuitive connection with the scene because of their personal background. This is the first time I’ve ever heard Purdue mentioned in a TV program or movie. It is just as much fun as whenever we watch When Harry Met Sally and American Pie, we would always wait for the one second when Michigan State’s name pops out from the actor’s mouth.
Seriously, where can you find a shirt with such an eye-intruding P on it?
It must be Purdue.
