Marymount College. Does this ring any bell to you?

While I made my trip to Toronto last weekend, PP paid a visit to Washington DC to enjoy sightseeing cherry blossoms. On his way back to Schenectady from New York on Amtrak train, he told me that he met this lady next to him. Catching a glimpse of her nametag on the tray table, PP initiated a long conversation with her, knowing that she teaches at the Communication department at a college near New York and she is heading north somewhere to attend a statewide conference. So on and so forth.

A couple of days later, I received an email from Susan Behrens, briefly telling me her encounter with PP on the train and how her college is thinking about starting a Chinese minor in the future. And she asked for a copy of my CV.

What? A chance might show up just like this?

So I did a little search and found out that she is from Marymount College!!! Surprise? Surprise! ^^ I know ~ it was back in the summer of 93. I don’t exactly recall where it is located, but I do remember it is up on a little hill that we have to walk up and down in order to catch trains to the city and the Metropolitan museum. It was hot there, and we cooked Mama instant noodles at night. And my roomie was a pretty French girl, who habitually left no clothes on in the room after shower.

Well, you must also be impressed by how PP can communicate with strangers, right? There was this one time on the airplane, he also chatted with the man next to him. They must have talked to each other’s heart content that PP even opened a bottle of wine and shared with the guy. The wine, which was supposed to be a gift for someone, did not make its way through to the US custom unfortunately.

From now on, I think PP should stroll around or take public transportation near any school that I might be interested in applying. He is my outsourcing guy, looking for chances of job interviews for me.
